... and Italian Chiesi links up with UK Vectura

Chiesi Farmaceutici of Italy has joined forces with UK drug delivery company Vectura to develop and manufacture pressurised metered dose inhalers (PMDIs) for third-party pharmaceutical companies.

The two companies have previously been working together to develop a range of new PMDI formulations using hydrofluoroalkane (HFA), which are replacing CFCs. Chiesi already has an HFA product, based on beclomethasone dipropionate, which has been launched in France.

Vectura will provide formulation development services and Chiesi will supply manufacturing capability.
