Envirotainer, the Swedish air cargo container lending firm with customers in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries, has appointed aviation support company Interavion to expand its presence in India.
As India's healthcare industry burgeons, Envirotainer's temperature-controlled containers are in considerable demand, the company reports, and Interavion will function as its local sales management in the region.
"We have experienced high levels of growth in India as customers are demanding better products and proven quality when shipping pharmaceuticals," said Ulf Uby, sales vp at Envirotainer.
Interavion states that the Indian pharmaceutical industry is worth approximately US$8.8bn, with forecasts of 20% yearly growth until 2010. Over 38% of these revenues are a result of exports.
