Aker Kvaerner Pharmaceuticals has decided to cease operations at its office in Bridgewater, New Jersey, US. The move comes because of 'market trends for engineering and construction services in the Pharmaceutical industry in the US over the last several years'.

While the operations in Bridgewater have been unable to book additional contracts in US, the Aker Kvaerner group will continue to service other parts of the international pharmaceutical industry from entities based in Europe, and is now communicating with its customers to ensure that all current contractual obligations are fulfilled. It will retain a task force to complete these projects.

Aker Kvaerner Plant Services Group, another member of the Aker Kvaerner family of companies, is planning to pursue plant services work in various industries, including pharmaceuticals, in New Jersey and the northeast.
