Olympus" new analySIS FilterInspector is a comprehensive system designed for fully automatic residue analysis of circular filters. Comprised of a microscope (Olympus MX61 or BX2M Series), digital camera (such as F-View II), motorised stage (incl. controller) and filter inspection software, the FilterInspector captures images of the entire filter in order to quickly complete a full inspection of even 47mm diameter circular filters, determining the number of residue particles on the filter at resolutions down to 0.8µm.

The first marketed product capable of analysing particles of any size, independent of the resolution setting, the system is also capable of, at the micrometer level, accurately quantifying particles that may be the same size as the filter itself. Its hardware and user-friendly software have been developed to interact smoothly, says Olympus, "guaranteeing highly precise and reproducible measurement results".
