UK-based Ascent Scientific has launched a low-cost ligand range for use in scientific research.

The new ligand range includes chemical tools used for research into epilepsy, drug abuse, pain and psychiatric disorders. Popular research tools, such as mGlu5 receptor antagonist MPEP, and the NMDA antagonist D-AP5, are among the ligands offered.

Ascent is a relatively new UK company based in Bristol, supplying receptor ligands, synthetic chemistry, research, consultancy and analytical services for life science, pharmaceutical and chemistry-related industries. Steve Roome PhD, commercial director of commented, 'We have got together a team of experienced life scientists and chemists, who passionately believe in progressing scientific research.
