Automatic sampling cuts operating costs
Analytical Tech-nologies (VSI UK) is now able to provide real-time bioprocess monitoring - which cuts operating costs by maximising yield, shortening product development times and eliminating batch failures - with automatic sampling systems (ARS) from Groton Biosystems.
A precision syringe pump collects samples automatically from the fermentation vessel and connects them directly to an analyser. Real-time data allows immediate adjustments to be made to optimise the process, improving purity of product and increasing yield. All of this allows staff to be released from the manual duties of liquid sampling, monitoring and analysis in order to perform more complex work.
A dual-isolated valve system ensures complete isolation of the reactor, while programmable cleaning and sterilisation procedures provide a further guarantee of protection against contamination. The systems are suitable for use on any scale from process development to full-scale production.
Modular design allows the reactor to interface with many process analysers, a fraction collection system or other analytical instruments.
