Biotech firms in strategic alliance

French biotech company BioProtein Technologies, which specialises in the production of therapeutic proteins in the milk of transgenic rabbits, has entered into a strategic alliance with Eurogentec Group, of LiEge in Belgium. Under the terms of the agreement, Eurogentec becomes BioProtein Technologies' privileged partner for the downstream processing of the recombinant proteins that are produced.

This new alliance will allow BioProtein Technologies to deliver fully integrated and customised manufacturing solutions to its clients, from gene to isolated and purified proteins, based on the production of recombinant proteins in the milk of transgenic rabbits. The company will benefit from Eurogentec's expertise in protein purification processes as well as its ability to operate in compliance with the current European and North American GMP guidelines.
