Blisters on good form

Published: 1-Apr-2003

The ALU250 from Tommy Nielsen, of Esbjerg, Denmark, is a semi-automatic machine for forming aluminium blisters. The company says the product is ideal for use on batch production lines or in laboratories, and can produce up to 1,200 items/h depending on the product.

During cold forming blister production pieces of aluminium foil, possibly already cut to the required shape, are placed on the blister-forming tool. The machine is then activated and the blister formed.

Aluminium blisters are mainly used for packaging products where a complete seal is required, eg for tablets that are sensitive to light, moisture or a combination of both.
