Bosspak counts Brunel among its client base
UK company Brunel Healthcare, of Bristol, has bought a Bosspak RTC 200 tablet and capsule counting line to meet increasing demand for its OTC medicines and vitamin & mineral supplements. Supplied by Romaco UK and installed at the Burnley premises of QBL - Brunel's partner company for packaging services - the line will handle a wide range of products. The Bosspak Rotary RTC is based on a rotary concept, and combines speeds previously achieved only by slat counters with the flexibility and control of an electronic system. On difficult shaped products such as caplets and soft gel capsules, the RTC has been shown to exceed significantly the speeds normally associated with vibratory machines. A unique feeding system asserts positive control of both product and container throughout the counting and filling process. Tablets or capsules are collected from the hopper by a rotating disk, which features pockets around the rim to contain individual products until the point of delivery. They are released into the bottle neck in a single stream to minimise the risk of clogging and counted by a highly accurate Quad Count optical sensor matrix, also capable of detecting damaged product. The line has been installed 'through the wall', with bottling and capping completed in a class 100,000 cleanroom to avoid product contamination.
