Brecon seeing double

Brecon Pharmaceuticals, the UK provider of commercial and clinical trials packaging services for the healthcare sector, has recently achieved two new standards. Not only has the company been awarded the Investors in People national standard that sets a level of good practice for training and development of people, but it has also received accreditation to the revised ISO9000 Quality Management Standard, ISO9001:2000.

The revised standard introduces several new requirements, including measurement of customer satisfaction as a quality indicator and the implementation of a continual improvement programme for quality management systems. There is also greater emphasis on the role of management, which must provide a framework for establishing and reviewing quality objectives. The consideration of statutory and regulatory requirements is also included for the first time.

Ceo John Bath said: 'Training is core to our philosophy as the nature of our business demands meticulous attention to detail. The award of the Investors in People Standard confirms our commitment to the highest levels of staff development which in turn ensures our exacting quality standards are maintained.'
