Capricorn Scientific strengthens its European footprint with a new cGMP-aligned logistics and production hub in Ebsdorfergrund, enhancing supply security, scalability and long-term partnerships for biotech and pharma customers

The German manufacturer Capricorn Scientific has announced the expansion of its European footprint with a new 4000 m2 logistics and infrastructure hub in Ebsdorfergrund, Germany.

The company said the expansion will create up to 40 new jobs during the next two years.

The new hub is designed to reduce supply chain risk, enhance scalability and support long-term partnerships in regulated life sciences markets.Capricorn Scientific expands European infrastructure with new German hub to boost pharma supply

To support this goal, the site is strategically located near Marburg and Frankfurt am Main, with fast access to Frankfurt International Airport, enabling efficient national and global distribution of cell culture products.

Capricorn also announced that the new facility will feature a modern, modular layout to improve truck access. It will feature multiple loading docks and clearly defined logistics zones to facilitate efficient, high-volume operations.

Additionally, the facility will offer expanded temperature-controlled storage options, including temperatures of +2 to +8 °C and -20 °C, as well as humidity-controlled room temperature.

This will ensure reliable handling of sensitive products, even during peak demand periods.

The manufacturer also said that security and quality will be embedded by design, with access-controlled areas and cGMP-aligned processes supporting customers operating in highly regulated upstream and downstream environments.

Further expansion is already underway, with planned additions for liquid bag filling, scaled powder production and dedicated R&D space.

These, the company hopes, will create a future-ready platform across logistics, production and innovation—all supported by integrated, modern office spaces for fast, efficient collaboration.

The new infrastructure will offer several key benefits for Capricorn's customers: improved supply security, reduced lead times from order to delivery, standardised processes and flexible call-off models for framework agreements and long-term partnerships.

The facility is designed to support both project-based and serial production, ensuring transparent logistics processes for key accounts and partners.
