Certified reference materials on show

Published: 1-Mar-2003

Three of Europe's certified reference material producers - the European Commission's Institute of Reference Materials and Measurement (IRMM), Germany's Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM), and LGC from the UK - will be appearing as European Reference Materials to promote certified reference materials (CRMs) of use to a wide range of sectors including biotechnology and clinical chemistry.

Together, the three companies aim to increase awareness of European CRMs in the US. Dr Andree Lamberty, of IRMM, said: 'It is true that most materials provided by BAM, IRMM and LGC were produced to help laboratories and industries comply with European legislation. However, we believe that our reference materials will help US and other non-European organisations comply with their own local as well as international environmental legislation.'
