Cintex identifies need for accuracy

Increasing demand for accurate product printing led UK company Cintex to develop Visionscan, a high specification, low-cost label identification and verification system. It uses OCV technology to identify critical information, including barcodes, batch numbers and use by/sell by dates, at speeds up to 185 packs/min. Visionscan compares each item against nine pre-set parameters and rejects any that do not match exactly.

The company will also be showing its Insight Compact X-ray machine, a low-cost system that extends beyond contamination detection to encompass pack-fill checking and non-contact checkweighing. Cintex was recently granted a patent on this x-ray technology.
