Cuno combines absolute filtration
Cuno's PolyNet PB filter cartridge is the latest addition to the company's range of depth filters. Absolute rated filtration is promised in combination with high flow rates, increased contaminant retention, cost savings and extended filter life.
The design enables the full capacity of the depth filter to be used. The construction incorporates three zones of polypropylene filter media, each with varying flow distribution channels, combined with layers of distribution netting.
The decreasing size and number of flow channels from one layer to the next creates evenly distributed longitudinal and latitudinal flow paths across each successive layer. Constant filtration is maintained at between 0.5 and 0.7 microns. The inner core has no flow channels and ensures absolute rated performance.
In the company's field tests, the flow distribution channels provide significantly lower pressure drops than its main competitors using the alternative melt-blown filer technologies. Also, where competitors are inclined to plug or shed previously held particles, PolyNet PB maintains a consistent high flow rate with greater contaminant retention. This can double the service life, according to Cuno.
