Data matrix code reading: a vision for the future

Absolute Vision, a UK specialist in two-dimensional (2D) code reading, has introduced BioMeridian, which will specialise in Data Matrix code reading products for pharmaceutical and biotech companies worldwide. BioMeridian aims to bring the advantages of quality control and better traceability to more laboratories by selling direct to end-users or via specialist distributors. The range of code readers is designed to read pre-marked tubes from all the major laboratory equipment manufacturers.

Richard Laight, head of business development for BioMeridian, said: 'In the life sciences arena, efficient and secure handling of sample tubes in liquid stores is vital to ensure competitive edge in drug discovery.

'We believe that there are many more people who would like to take advantage of Data Matrix code reading for sample traceability.'
