German fine chemicals manufacturer Degussa has reorganised its fine chemicals activities. From the beginning of November, the Exclusive Synthesis and High Quality Fine Chemicals activities will operate as two business units. The group's catalysis business was also added to the Exclusive Synthesis unit.
Under the direction of Dr Peter Nagler, the new Exclusive Synthesis and Catalysis business unit will market Degussa's extensive catalysis expertise with particular emphasis on the development of custom-tailored syntheses and catalysts for the drugs market. 'The close relationship between catalysis and synthesis in one business unit taps additional synergies that will benefit both operational units,' said Nagler.
Under the direction of Dr Joachim Semel, the new Building Blocks business unit focuses on high-quality synthetic building blocks and intermediates. 'Our aim is to offer the right products for diverse applications and markets,' said Semel.
