Diagnosing waste at S&N
Pakawaste, the market leader in the field of waste compaction equipment, has recently supplied a Powerkrush 85T static compactor and an MX600 baler to medical supplies manufacturer Smith & Nephew for its site in Nelson, Lancashire.
Smith & Nephew has adopted an effective environmental policy for its north west England site and has decided to purchase the new equipment to continue to improve on its policy. The Powerkrush 85 is one of the most popular models in Pakawaste's static compactor range and the twin-cylinder version allows for enhanced compaction ratios and larger payloads to be achieved. By compacting its general waste, Smith & Nephew has not only been able to make financial savings on its waste transportation and disposal, but has benefited environmentally.
The MX600 baler is used to bale cardboard packaging wastes, created in the manufacturing and distribution processes. Once baled into mill sized bales, the waste is taken away by the processor in return for revenue.
