Hygienic applications in milling and grinding have led to the development of the RA and RP series of angle disintegrators from Hosokawa Rietz.

Developed from the proven RD series of vertical hammer mills, the RA and RP series incorporate fast cover opening and a stainless steel contruction to facilitate easy cleaning, with all moving parts completely accessible for inspection.

This is helped by an overhung shaft and the 45° operating angle. The overhung shaft design also ensures that the bearings are isolated and sealed off from the product.

Stainless steel hard-faced hammers subject the product to intense attrition, with particle reduction determined by a 360° perforated screen, which is also stainless steel. The design of the screen ensures uniform reduction and continuous flow, which in turn minimises temperature rises and cuts vibrations. This gives the added benefit of a lower power requirement.
