Distek launches bathless tablet testing
Distek has developed an innovative bathless system for testing pharmaceutical tablets. By eliminating the water bath the 6100 Tablet Dissolution System removes tedious maintenance and heating system vibration and noise while reducing the system warm-up time, 0 to 37°C in less than 15 minutes, and increasing sample throughput.
Available in the UK from Omicron, the compact Distek 6100 features a patented system of temperature monitoring where the temperature sensor is built into the shaft of the stirrer in each vessel, thereby offering continuous temperature monitoring and individual control of all vessels in addition to eliminating unwanted hydrodynamic disturbances.
The control module can store up to 100 pre-programmed test methods so that set up times and operator errors are reduced, consequently increasing laboratory productivity.
The system also features detachable and interchangeable paddles and baskets, which are compatible with USP requirements. These offer significant time savings when converting between paddles and baskets - since there is no need to remove the shafts - as well as eliminating possible vessel breakage during changeovers. Two stop positions for baskets and paddles also contribute to faster changeover and increased laboratory efficiency. Another feature is auto detection of shaft raising and lowering.
The Distek VisiChek accessory with built-in lighting allows visual monitoring of all baths, stirrers and samples as required for USP compliance.
Omicron also advocates the use of the new Distek 4300 Dissolution Automatic Sampler, which can control and sample from one or two dissolution systems and can collect data and samples during unattended overnight operation.
