DSM completes Catalytica deal

The US$800m takeover of Catalytica Pharmaceuticals by DSM has been completed, and the Mountain View, CA, US-based firm incorporated into DSM Fine Chemicals. The deal, first mooted last September, establishes DSM as the world's largest producer of specialties for pharmaceutical products. The company's life sciences businesses will now achieve annual turnover around €2.2bn.
