Electro-mec looks east
UK-based Electro-Mec (Reading) has supplied an EMF3D feeder to pack capsules for pharmaceutical manufacturer Bright Future, of Hong Kong.
To prove the suitability of the machine for this particular application and carry out the necessary validation procedures, Electro-mec arranged for sample product and a formed web to be sent to its factory in Reading. This enabled a typical production environment to be simulated, confirming the working efficiencies of the machine and allowing predelivery validation tests to take place before the machine was shipped overseas.
The availability of this service has enabled Electro-Mec to win similar orders from other parts of the world, including the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, as well as Scandinavia and the Benelux countries.
'Accuracy of tablet placement and efficiency of operation are two key reasons for customers selecting our EMF range, so it is vital that the machines deliver on both these counts,' said Ron Garwood, Electro-mec's technical sales director. 'We have installed an in-house test rig to enable customers to try out the machines' capabilities. While it is particularly useful for overseas orders, we are finding that many of our UK-based customers value the service equally highly.'
