Brecon Pharmaceuticals

Stand D39

Brecon Pharmaceuticals, the Hay-on-Wye based provider of commercial and clinical trials supplies for the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, will be using the CPhI exhibition to present a range of complementary services for the pharmaceutical industry.

The company has undergone significant change in the past year, demonstrated most clearly in its greatly increased production capacity. Considerable investment is being made to enhance capabilities, ensuring that Brecon can handle batches of any size quickly and efficiently. Developments include the establishment of a new business unit dedicated to packing for stability trials, which will work with clients to design and produce packs suitable for stability testing through to final use.

Brecon has recently gained considerable stature in the contract sector through the quality of its work packing product for the highly demanding Japanese market. It has also strengthened its association with its US joint venture partner, ProClinical (Philadelphia, PA), the benefits of which include the ability to offer regulatory-compliant child-resistant and senior-friendly packaging. The association also enhances both companies' positions with respect to the impending implementation of the European Clinical Trials Directive 2001/20/EC.

Steve Kemp, business development director, says: 'These are very exciting times for the whole Brecon team. The work we are producing for our Japanese market is demonstrating just what we are capable of.'
