Extract Technology, a global supplier in containment and aseptic systems based in Huddersfield, UK, has delivered and commissioned two bespoke containment devices within a high containment facility for an unnamed UK pharmaceutical manufacturer.
The devices include a glassware booth, which houses a variety of the process equipment, and a bespoke isolator to contain a filter dryer and a cone mill. The systems provide containment down to sub 30ng/m3 providing PPE free material handling and processing.
The project was in development over a two-year period, during which time the system requirements changed significantly; where initially designed for a specific product, the final solution will be able to produce a number of different products.
Extract Technology worked closely with the pharmaceutical manufacturer and other vendors from Europe and Canada to ensure that the final solution met the containment requirements of both the operators and the products.
Stephen Carpmail, Sales and Marketing Manager at Extract Technology, said: 'This has been a very exciting project to be involved with; it had its challenges by its very unique design requirements, but working closely with the client we have supplied a first class solution, meeting and exceeding the customer’s expectations.'
