Flexicon adds vial filling and handling
Sterile liquid filling specialist Flexicon A/S has added a compact and versatile aseptic filling and plugging machine to its range. Available in the UK and Ireland through PAK Machinery, the new FP50 table-top unit features Flexicon's PD12P peristaltic pump, which is able to dose extremely accurate fills from 0.5ml upwards.
The FP50 is said to be ideal for small to medium sized pharmaceutical, diagnostic and biotech companies and can operate at speeds up to 25 vials a minute. As well as filling, it can perform half or full plugging of the vials, using standard plugs from 13 to 20mm in diameter without changing the vibrator bowl.
Designed to be integrated into an LAF cabinet or isolator, the FP50 can be operated and adjusted from outside the machine environment, eliminating the need to handle the vials or plugs until the filling and closing operation is complete.
At the same time, Flexicon has also introduced a special vial unplugging and plugging device designed to operate with the company's FF20 vial feeding and liquid filling machine, enabling it to be handle pre-sterilised vial/stopper combinations. The new UP20 unit can handle up to 20 vials/plugs a minute.
