High reliability for chemical pumps
Ultrachem ANSI dimensional magnetically-driven pumps are now part of the range available through Michael Smith Engineers.
Designed to be extremely reliable, the pumps are based on ductile iron casting and incorporate a Tefzel (ETFE) lining for high-corrosion resistance. The casing meets ANSI/ASME B73.1M nozzle loads.
Flows of up to 75m³/hr and heads of up to 100m are available. The pumps incorporate a modified concentric volute to equalise pressure across the entire flow range. The resulting minimal hydraulic radial thrust loads lead to reduced wear on the pump's components. This, combined with a rear sealing ring and holes in the impeller, balance the hydraulic axial thrust and thus decrease pressure on the impeller.
The straightening vanes in the suction prevent the possibility of pre-rotation under low flow conditions and also reduce turbulence on the impeller, which enhanced operation at low flow rates.
