High throughput discovery

Savant's new Discovery SpeedVac has been designed specifically for the drug discovery and combinatorial chemistry market where aggressive solvents are often used and high throughput is an essential requirement.

Available from Thermo Life Sciences, the unit includes a multi-level interchangeable rotor system to enable high throughput. It has a maximum capacity of 120 shallow well microtitre plates, 48 deep well plates or 840 test tubes. High capacity sample loading can be achieved by placing entire racks from sample preparation companies straight into the Discovery SpeedVac unit.

The Discovery has an integrated modular design. The vacuum pump and cold trap are in one housing but each component can be removed individually for routine maintenance or repair. Stainless steel construction with Teflon liquid pathways allows the use of any type of solvent or solvent mixture including aggressive acids.
