High throughput for pipette system
UK-based TTP LabTech has introduced a high throughput option for its mosquito nanolitre liquid handling system to provide enhanced capacity for compound dissolution applications such as compound-to-assay plate creation using a single step dilution. mosquito can pipette accurately and reproducibly throughout the 50nl-1.2µl volumetric range, producing CVs of <10% at 50nl. Disposable tips eliminate the risk of cross-contamination, and working at such small volumes helps to reduce assay costs significantly, TTP LabTech claims.
mosquito HT, the new high throughput option, offers vastly increased walk-away time, making it ideal for sub-cloning plates during compound dissolution in 96, 384 and 1536 plates. The extended walk-away time is created by the combination of a new deck variant with five SBS plate positions (increased from the standard two-position deck) together with a robotic plate handler and integrated software. The five-position mosquito HT can make four copies of a 384 plate in less than five minutes, or pool four x 384 plates into a 1536 plate in less than 12 minutes.
A Hamilton SWAP robotic arm manipulates plates to and from the work surface, allowing mosquito to run plate-to-plate transfers without intervention for up to 200 plates.
