Honeywell launches new version of MES software

Published: 20-Dec-2001

Honeywell POMS has released a new version of its MES manufacturing management software aimed at the healthcare and consumer packaged goods sectors. MES 4.3 adopts a modular approach that makes it more responsive to the needs of its users, the company says, while its lower entry cost offers a quicker return on investment. It is also faster to implement than previous versions.

The modules can work either independently or together to provide a complete history for compliance demonstration and performance improvements. Functionality includes recipe, inventory, asset and production order management, dispensing, electronic batch records, WIP management, and reporting.

One of the first users of POMS MES 4.3 is Galderma, the healthcare joint venture between of Nestle and L'Oreal, which is installing it at a facility in Montreal, Canada. It will subsequently be implemented at multiple sites in France.

The installation is part of a major project to implement three manufacturing solutions for process management from Honeywell POMS. Besides MES, Galderma will also be using POMS Clinical Manufacturing Solution, which will be implemented at the company's r&d facilities in Annecy and Sophia Antipolis in France, and POMS eSpec, the electronic specification system.
