Honour for former Akzo Nobel cfo
Fritz Froehlich, former cfo and vice chairman of Akzo Nobel, has been decorated with the prestigious Dutch royal distinction 'Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau'. He was officially presented with the honour by the minister for foreign trade Karien van Gennip at a special symposium held to mark the tenth anniversary of the merger of Akzo with Nobel Industries.
The Order of Orange-Nassau is bestowed on people who have made a contribution of outstanding value to the Dutch community for a considerable period of time.
Hans Wijers, ceo of Akzo Nobel, said: 'This is a great honour for both my former colleague Fritz Froehlich and Akzo Nobel. After his leading role in the reorganisation of the former fibres division, he built a strong reputation as a truly top international manager for our company.' Froehlich retired on 1 May, 2004.
