Hosokawa creates centre of excellence for containment

Published: 1-Jun-2003

Hosokawa Micron, of Runcorn in the UK, is planning to create an international centre of excellence for containment technology in response to ever more stringent Health & Safety legislation, the increasing potency of active pharmaceutical ingredients and the demand for lower occupational exposure limits.

A single containment division will be formed by integrating Hosokawa Stott, a specialist in equipment for the high containment of products to less than 1µg/m,3, and Hosokawa Vitalair, which focuses on clean air and downflow booth technology.

This new division will offer customers a single source for containment expertise, design and building of containment equipment and complete integrated process systems.

The centre of excellence will incorporate a research and development department and expanded testing and validation facilities, based on a purpose-designed cleanroom area, allowing process operation and equipment testing.
