Bioprocessing and drug discovery specialist Invetech in has opened a new 15,000 square foot facility in San Diego, California to support the expansion of its client base in North America.

Bioprocessing and drug discovery specialist Invetech in has opened a new 15,000 square foot facility in San Diego, California to support the expansion of its client base in North America.

Since 2002, Invetech has had an active business development team in North America, resulting in steady growth and the creation of a North American client base.

The new facility now adds California-based design, engineering and contract manufacturing services to Invetech's capabilities. The California location is close to a high-tech scientific community that will both aid and benefit from Invetech's product development, custom automation and manufacturing solutions.

There is also a strong network of biomedical companies and extensive scientific community in areas such as point-of-care, molecular diagnostics, medical devices and living cell processing.

Our new office extends our skills, expertise and proven experience, allowing us to better bridge the gap between research, product development and manufacturing," said Jari Palander, Invetech vice president. "From this base, a more responsive and flexible approach enables us to deliver the best outcome for our client - commercial success."

Invetech has also appointed Richard Grant as vice president of operations for Invetech, San Diego. In his new role, Grant will oversee Invetech's US operations.

"The facility will have the infrastructure necessary to provide an expanded local service to our clients including a range of specialised development labs, workshop and contract manufacturing production area," said Grant.
