Kraeuterhaus Wild checks codes with Leuze Mayser
Leuze Mayser's BCL21/22 barcode readers with pharmacode capability are enabling German tea-maker Kraeuterhaus Wild to satisfy pharmaceutical packaging regulations on its range of medicinal teas, which account for over half its output.
The barcode readers have been integrated into existing machines in the company's packaging operation. This enabled the company to upgrade its process with scanners designed specifically for checking the packaging of pharmaceutical products. The system is able to process around 10 million bags/day.
The readers not only scan the barcode while at a standstill, but identify the instruction leaflet by barcode during insertion into the carton at high speed.
The readers measure 82x68x28mm, and can read codes as small as 0.15mm. Models with scan rates up to 1,000 scans/s are available.
