Liquid filler launch takes centre stage at Romaco

Romaco's Macofar division is launching an automatic monobloc liquid filler designed for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. Pre-arranged for the addition of a second closing group with various closure options, the LVI 4-8 is available in three versions: monobloc with two integrated closing groups; monobloc with one closing group separated from the filling area; or as an in-line system.

To ensure compliance with the most rigorous filling applications, contact parts are offered in a choice of AISI 316L stainless steel or silicon, the four volumetric filling pumps can be supplied in stainless steel or ceramic and the dosing system comes with a choice of either ball or rotating valve. CIP or SIP systems are available as an option.

The output of the LVI 4 is 4000 vials/hour, while the LVI 8 offers 8000/hour. Fill range is 0.5-500cc (300cc for the LVI 8), and vials with diameters from 16-85mm and heights from 35-200mm can be handled.

The Laetus wt (web technology) range of on-line inspection systems will be shown for the first time in the UK. These are said to reduce the cost and simplify the implementation of complex installations, while making them easier to operate. Further advantages of the system include multiple access points for programming, operation and diagnostics, together with the option to link the various security networks to the user company's intranet system.

Intelligent security devices, such as code readers, print inspection cameras and blister inspection cameras, can be linked to form a security ethernet on the packaging line via universal interfaces containing a complete web server. These in turn are linked through an industrial switch to complete the network, which is accessed and controlled via Navigator, a software browser package developed by Laetus.

A new addition to Romaco's cartoning range - a Promatic P100 system especially designed for the cartoning of tubes - will also make its UK debut at the show.
