A new generation of print-apply labelling machines equipped with email facilities that provide remote warning of errors or service requirements will be demonstrated in the UK for the first time by Logopak International.
Also on show is new software, I-Quest, that allows users of Logopak machines to search for, extract and present production statistics and other specific data from end-of-line print & apply labelling operations.
The new generation Logopak 400 range is aimed at mid-speed duties, typically 50-60 cases or shrinkwrap collations a minute, and is self-monitoring to provide site maintenance engineers - or Logopak's own technicians - with remote warning via e-mail of any potential problems or need for support. "This means fewer skilled people are required to supervise end-of-line labelling operations," says Logopak UK general manager Wilson Clark. "Should the machine's controls sense a potential problem, an e-mail can be sent immediately."
The new I-Quest software runs as part of Logopak's Synchro-LXS suite of programmes, which holds and manages labelling data files on a PC to give real-time data flow to the labeller, independent of the host computer from which the data is initially downloaded.
This allows the labeller to continue operating at maximum capacity when the host computer is engaged on other tasks. Users can also interrogate the system and extract production statistics or search for specific data.
