M & A Pharmachem goes large

Published: 1-Aug-2005

M & A Pharmachem, a UK independent generic pharmaceutical manufacturer, recently took delivery of an Xpress700 - the largest tablet press in Manesty's Xpress range. The company is now looking forward to the delivery of an XLCota 750 tablet coater, Manesty's largest tablet coater, with a drum capacity of 800 litres.

The Xpress700 has an output of up to 800,000 tablets/hr and offers a choice of four turret options. Its integral air cushion also enables the press to be easily manoeuvred out of the tableting area for even faster product/tooling changeover. The XLCota 750 will be Manesty's first coater with an 800-litre capacity drum.

M & A Pharmachem already has the capacity to produce 2bn tablets and 500m capsules per year, volumes which will be significantly increased when the new Manesty equipment goes on line.
