Maik W. Jornitz becomes Parenteral Drug Association's new chair-elect
Global pharmaceutical body the Parenteral Drug Association, has elected Maik W. Jotnitz as its chair-elect (vice chairman).
Global pharmaceutical body the Parenteral Drug Association, has elected Maik W. Jotnitz as its chair-elect (vice chairman).
Jornitz, who is group vice president of marketing filtration and fermentation at German Sartorius Stedim Biotech, has been an active member of the PDA for close to 15 years.
Before becoming chair-elect, he was treasurer, chair of the 2008 annual meeting and had direct involvement in the Technical Report 26 on Liquid Sterilizing Filtration.
"The PDA is the most prominent and effective platform of scientific communication and discussion between members of the biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical industry, academia and regulatory institutions," said Jornitz. "It is an honour to be part of PDA's vital function in supporting regulators and the biopharmaceutical industry as well as shaping the newest developments in this industry. I am very happy to join this senior level and distinguished board of directors."
John Shabushnig was elected chair of the PDA board. The PDA has over 10,000 members including pharmaceutical group representatives such as Genentech, Amgen, Pfizer, Baxter and Eli Lilly.
