Cwmbran, UK-based Crane Process Flow Technologies (CPFT), a Crane company, has formed a manufacturing alliance with leading UK pharmaceutical fabricator, Axium.

The alliance recognises Axium as a preferred partner for welding and finishing operations to the CPFT Saunders HC4 range of sanitary and aseptic diaphragm valves.

'We believe an association with a specialist fabrication house is the logical step to follow a timely and substantial business review of the Saunders brand,' says Marcel Verhoeven, vice president of business development at CPFT. 'Having re-appraised our core competencies, we're confident Axium will bring enhanced capabilities and facilities in support of the HC4 range.'

Axium operates from a newly commissioned 10,000ft2 facility that is designed to provide a clean and hygienic environment for the fabrication of high specification stainless steel components. Axium's welders hold ASME IX and BS EN287-1 coding, meeting accreditation specified by CPFT.

Axium managing director, David Houldsworth adds: 'The demand for high specification welding we expect from CPFT allows us to dedicate our most experienced specialist teams to handle the Saunders HC4 work.'
