Marken inaugurates new branches in India
To support growing demand for temperature-controlled supply chain services
Logistics services provider Marken has opened four new branches in India to support growing demand for clinical trial logistics in the region.
The company has added branches in New Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune and Bangalore to its Mumbai office to support the growing need for temperature-controlled logistics of sensitive drugs and cold chain specimens.
‘The expansion of our operations in India enables Marken better to support client needs for regional expertise and temperature-controlled supply chain services,’ said Wes Wheeler, chief executive of Marken. ‘We have seen steady growth and demand for our specimen logistics, drug distribution and API supply chain services in India.’
Marken is currently building a new purpose-built GMP compliant depot in Bangalore, which will be completed by the end of 2012.
This depot will join the company's other warehouses in Argentina, Mexico and Singapore, which offer a full range of temperature-controlled storage capabilities including controlled ambient, refrigerated and frozen as pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
Each of these depots provides drug and equipment distribution solutions including: pick and pack, relabelling services, reverse logistics, reconciliation and certified destruction. Additionally, the network manages specimen kit distribution, interim specimen storage and management.
