Maruho Hatsujyo Innovations (MHI), the US subsidiary of Maruho Hatsujyo Kogyo (MHK), has hired longtime senior-level machinery professional Markus Haid as Chief Operating Officer.
Based in Kyoto, MHK is Japan’s second largest pharmaceutical packaging machinery manufacturer with over 60 years of experience.
Haid will be responsible for leading, managing, and directing operations, developing sales personnel and sales channels, and strengthening technical resources of the US operation.
He will focus on providing customer guidance and consultation for the Eagle, the company’s blister machine introduced in 2016. He will also work on continuing to raise market awareness of the machine.
The Eagle is an Americanised version of MHK’s PF-D1S – a compact, servo-driven blister machine. It is the company’s first foray into the North American marketplace.
Before joining MHI, Haid was Strategic Accounts Manager for Mettler Toledo. Prior to that, he was Managing Director for Uhlmann Packaging Systems. He earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Handwerkskammer Reutlingen in Germany. Haid currently resides in Hackettstown, New Jersey.
“We believe Markus brings a depth of experience that will help the US market better appreciate the quality, precision and performance that the Eagle offers in a compact footprint,” said Gregory Zaic, President and CEO of MHI.
“His expertise also will be an asset as MHI brings additional packaging innovations to the North American marketplace.”
