Metal screens just got stronger

Techniques developed by Tecan Components are enabling the company to offer fine metal screens and meshes with higher and more rigid side walls that were available using traditional lithography techniques.

The aspect ratio — the relationship between the width of an aperture and the thickness of the adjacent plate wall — has been increased through enhancing photo-resist and lithographic manufacturing techniques, leading to meshes that can be specified with higher mechanical strength and greater rigidity.
