The new product is the QuickCOD _o Online COD Determination - explosion-proof -(ATEX Zone 1 and 2) The high temperature COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) on-line measurement system QuickCODR_o determines the COD in 1 minute without reagents -and is DIN standard compliant . LAR Process Analysers AG presents with the QuickCODR_o a new on-line COD measuring system, that provides COD determination within a few seconds even under extremely difficult conditions, this is achieved by using the high temperature method. This latest development is not a TOC analyser with factor. But TOC measurement can be combined with COD measurement to measure in one step the COD content of a sample as well as the TOC content, within 3 minutes (T100 time). The measurement system is suitable for every COD application in industrial and municipal waste water treatment. Typical on-line applications range from early warning of high oxygen demand influences i.e.from detection of organic spills and product loss, to effluent monitoring in chemical, petrochemical and food processing plants. The COD measurement can be performed even in high salt concentrations (≥ 20g/l) without memory effects, making the QuickCODR_o ideal for applications with rapidly changing concentrations (within minutes). A dilution of the sample is not necessary. The analyser guarantees the complete digestion of all organics by subjecting the sample to high temperature combustion at 1200°C. It requires no reagents and no caustics or other dangerous substances. The result is the highest reliability and easy to use instrument and maintenance and operational costs are minimal. Due to the standard feature of measuring single samples easily the QuickCODR_o supports besides the on-line analytics also laboratory tests. Environmental and operator are protected from any exposure to harmful reagents as they are rendered unnecessary. With the high temperature method the analyser contributes to more safety during the measurement processes and provides considerable cost and time savings in the laboratory. The QuickCODR_o works with the patented sample preparation system FlowSampler which is completely filtration-free. The unit covers also solid waste water components because the sample can be homogenised if required and the COD can be determined rapidly afterwards.
