Mettler excels with recipe management system

Published: 3-Mar-2001

Mettler Toledo has introduced a user-friendly, low-cost PC-based recipe/formulation software system, which works within the familiar environment of Microsoft Excel to define recipes, provide stock management and generate reports.

An unlimited number of recipes can be stored in the FormXL system, defined within Excel worksheets using a controlled materials database to populate the recipes. Inputs are provided to record recipe batch numbers, material lot numbers and operator identification for traceability purposes. Standard recipe weighing functions such as material tolerances, multiple batches, horizontal weighing mode and batch sizing are all included.

A simple stock management system is included, which features two stockrooms-holding and working stock. Stock is automatically adjusted with recipe usage and can easily be transferred between rooms. There is also a low stock alarm that alerts the user when a particular item is running low.
