Millipore strengthens position in virus safety

Millipore Corporation, a leading US supplier of technologies, tools and services for the global life sciences industry, has added the Viresolve Pro+ Solution to its virus safety products portfolio.

The Viresolve Pro+ Solution provides a robust parvovirus clearance that works effectively at higher titre feedstreams. Parvoviruses are some of the smallest viruses found in nature, which makes them particularly difficult to remove in the manufacturing process, the company says.

The product is available in a disposable flow path and increases the overall capacity and productivity of biopharmaceutical manufacturers" virus removal operations. It fits both monoclonal antibody and therapeutic protein processes. It also includes a proprietary binary gas integrity test (BGT) to detect oversized pores or defects that can compromise a filter's retention capability and cause contamination in the end product.
