Miniature outserts aimed at pharmacutical sector

A range of miniature multi-folded and glued 'outsert' leaflets for pharmaceutical applications has been launched by Leicester-based Clinical Print Finishers.

Measuring only 50mm by 30mm, each leaflet contains some 160 folded 'pages' on a sheet size 505 x 200mm.

The outserts have wide ranging applications for patient information leaflets, instructional leaflets for both the pharmaceutical and healthcare markets and for 'on-carton' and 'on-product' promotions. Engineers at the company adapted existing machines by attaching two special glue guns, which place two 'glue spots'.

Managing director Alvin Brown believes that this is the first time that this combination of miniature folding and gluing has been achieved by a specialist trade-finisher.
