MonoSol Rx selected Doyen Medipharm following an extensive review of prospective equipment suppliers and material trials.
P. Scott Bening, president and ceo, MonoSol Rx, said: 'The acquisition of the Doyen equipment is intended to augment our existing packaging relationships and better allow us to serve our growing OTC and Rx customer base. This move complements our facilities expansion, which is underway to increase our film coating capacity.'
MonoSol Rx, headquartered in Portage, Indiana, is a leading drug delivery company that uses film as a fast-dissolve oral drug delivery platform. The company's FDTAB film oral dosage form looks like a postage stamp and dissolves readily on the tongue to deliver drugs to a patient, replacing the use of conventional tablets and capsules.
