More efficient tumbler screens

Published: 29-May-2001

Tumbler screening machines are well proven as efficient and reliable separating systems for grading powders. Three new developments have enabled Allgaier to improve the performance and economy of its screening machines still further.

The deck has a combination of fine and coarse meshes that make it possible to separate materials into three grades in one go. So a machine with five screen decks, two of which are equipped with the new MMD system, can now produce eight, rather than six grades, without increasing the height of the machine. In some cases, MMD technology makes it possible to eliminate a second machine for pre-grading.

The pneumatic lifting device reduces machine downtimes and easier maintenance, but does not need to be permanently installed on the screening machine. It can thus be used on several existing machines. Up to five screen decks can be lifted together for replacement or inspection of the screens.
