MT calorimeter proves itself as lab workhorse

An automated RC1 laboratory calorimeter from Mettler Toledo has proved to be the workhorse of a busy chemical reaction hazards laboratory at Southampton-based Chilworth Technology.

Chilworth provides safety, contract testing and consultancy services. The company uses the RC1 to characterise the thermal properties of chemical reactions under controlled conditions to replicate the manufacturing process. Without that information, the company would not be able to scale up processes with any degree of confidence. Versatility and reliability are the key features of the calorimeter, according to Chilworth.
