MUCON extends its range with new Butterfly Valves

Mucon has added an extensive range of butterfly valves to its comprehensive portfolio of powder handling products. Mucon business manager, Tony Clark comments: 'Butterfly valves are an exciting addition. They are part of our plan to offer a broader selection of valve types enabling us to satisfy more pharmaceutical applications in particular'.

The models are specifically designed for the pharmaceutical industry where CIP is essential and product damage is unacceptable. There are four such designs: standard, flexible disc, quick disassembly and dosing types.

Standard valves are hygienic with mirror polished stainless steel finishes. They are pressure rated to 2 bar at temperatures from -40°C to +200°C. Sizes range from 100 to 300mm. Valves up to 200mm can accommodate the flexible soft seal silicone butterfly option for applications where damage to finished tablets or other products must be avoided.

The quick disassembly models are for those applications requiring total dismantling between batches. 'Vee' section clamps make these valves quick and easy to dismantle, and to reassemble.

Valves with multi-blade discs, offering the option of 90° or 180° actuation, are for the controlled dosing of products into mixers, reactors and other process vessels.

The option of hand or power operation is available for all types. All models are designed to be sandwiched between flanges or connected by Tri-Clover or 'Vee' clamps. Their rugged, all stainless steel, construction with silicone seals also makes these valves ideal for applications involving some of the most abrasive and aggressive raw materials.
