Swiss-based Natural Alternatives International Europe, (NAIE) a wholly owned subsidiary of Natural Alternatives International, Inc, a leading formulator and manufacturer of customised nutritional supplements, has been granted a licence by the Swissmedic Authority of Bern to process pharmaceuticals for packaging, importation, export and sale both in Switzerland and internationally.

The licence became effective on 30 January 2004 and will remain valid until January of 2009.

NAIE, operating in Manno, Switzerland, has focused primarily on non-pharmaceutical nutritional supplement products since starting production in September 1999. 'Obtaining the pharmaceutical licence certifies that our operations conform to Good Manufacturing Practices,' said managing director Dr Fausto Petrini. 'We anticipate this licensure will improve our ability to develop relationships with new customers.'
