New Brunswick Scientific acquires RS Biotech Laboratory Equipment

US-based New Brunswick Scientific Co. has acquired RS Biotech Laboratory Equipment, a designer and manufacturer of CO2 incubators based in Irvine, Scotland.


US-based New Brunswick Scientific Co. has acquired RS Biotech Laboratory Equipment, a designer and manufacturer of CO2 incubators based in Irvine, Scotland.

RS Biotech's incubators are sold to life science and biotech research customers in more than 40 countries. The company has annual sales of around US$3m (Euro 2.6m).

'RS Biotech's range of CO2 Incubators fits naturally into the New Brunswick Scientific's product portfolio. There is obvious synergy across a wide range of activities, and considerable advantage to be gained from complementary strengths,' said Malcolm McNab, managing director and one of the founders of RS Biotech.

'We are very pleased to have acquired RS Biotech, as its Galaxy CO2 Incubators represent a strong addition to our lines of biological shakers, ultra-low temperature freezers, fermenters and cell culture equipment,' added David Freedman, chairman and ceo of New Brunswick Scientific.
